Those of you who are planning the purchase of a Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone when it becomes internationally available starting with the next month might want to know that the phone has already been rooted.

Carriers in South Korea have already started selling the device, but it won’t be offered in other markets out there until April 11, as Samsung officially announced last month.

Before users worldwide are able to grab the new flagship handset, however, the guys over at XDA-Developers announced that a rooting tool for it is now available.

Called CF-AutoRoot, the tool comes from Chainfire and was released for free. Apparently, only the international SM-G900F version of the device can be rooted using this app, but it should be enough for the beginning.

Those who get the Samsung Galaxy S5 when it becomes available for purchase will be able to flash the tool to it through Odin, as PhoneArena notes.

They should also keep in mind that using the tool to root the smartphone will raise the flash counter, which means that Samsung will know that they’ve tampered with the device. Moreover, it seems that this will also trip the Samsung KNOX warranty flag.

There are only two weeks left until Galaxy S5 lands on the market, and some more similar tools are expected to emerge until then. Custom ROMs for the phone will also be released soon, that’s for sure.
