Intermec, a leader in supply chain technology innovations that improve productivity and reduce cost of ownership for its customers,
is introducing the CN3, the smallest rugged computer in the world, packed with features enabling users to access voice and high-speed data while on the move.

While it offers just as much as other handsets, quite an advantage to the CN3 is its rugged exterior, ensuring that even while used in rough conditions at work, it will not be damaged.

The CN3 is also priced lower than your typical rugged mobile devices and offers enterprises the opportunity to re-evaluate existing technology deployments in favor of new ones that provide improved efficiency and a competitive edge. The handheld comes with WiFI, Bluetooth and a choice of integrated network independent GPS receiver, WAN voice and data services including 3G, Ev-DO or EDGE. Running Windows Mobile 5.0, the CN3 also packs a 1.3 megapixel camera, 128MB RAM and an ultra-slim battery that provides all-day power.

Of course, this is really not a device to target the average user (that would be better off with a HTC handheld or Motorola Q), but the mobile worker that most of all needs all the usual productivity features and as an extra the rugged form factor.

"The CN3 is a powerful, business-grade device, rugged enough for on-the-job use and full of the features enterprise users require, yet compact enough to slip into a pocket," said Barry Tishgart, director, Product Management, Sprint. "Mobile workers everywhere will benefit from the CN3's ability to connect them anywhere, any time, to the information and applications they need - and at EV-DO broadband speeds."
