Inter Milan qualified for the Italy`s Cup Final, drawing 2-2 away, at Udine. After the 1-0 success in the previous game against Udinese, yesterday's match on the "Friuli" Stadium was more exciting. Coming after the early elimination from the UEFA Champions League, Inter refuses to let go without a trophy this season. While, in Seria A, Mancini`s team has no chance whatsoever to the "scudetto", they enter
the game willing to finish business early.
Hardly did the host team enter the field, that Solari opened the score for inter. After scoring in the first leg, the Argentinean sealed the qualification of his team from the 9th minute. The score then suffered no changes until the 83rd minute when, both teams playing very relaxed, 3 goals were scored in less than 7 minutes. Iaquinta equalized in the 90th minute from penalty, to give Udineze a decent elimination from the competition.
After Solari's early goal, the Udine players were obviously affected in their game, knowing that they would have to score three times to qualify. Their attacks were goalless though, Inter's defense proving to be very strong. The second half didn't bring anything new to the game, except for the last 7 minutes, when the scoring of the 3 goals came as a result of Inter`s relaxation.
The other finalist of the competition will be decided tonight at the Olimpico Stadium, where host AS Roma will try to come from 2-1 down in the first leg, against Palermo.
