Users of Microsoft Hardware peripherals are sure to be familiar with the IntelliType and IntelliPoint software that the Redmond company is offering them.
On August 8th, 2011, the software giant posted both Microsoft IntelliType Pro 8.2 Keyboard Software for Windows and Microsoft IntelliPoint 8.2 Mouse Software for Windows on the Microsoft Download Center.
The two resources come in a couple of flavors each, tailored to 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions of Windows, including Windows 7 SP1.
In addition to being offered through the Download Center, IntelliType Pro 8.2 Keyboard Software and IntelliPoint 8.2 Mouse Software can also be downloaded from the Microsoft Hardware site, where users can search for the peripherals they’re running from a list of devices.
IntelliPoint 8.2 and IntelliType 8.2 make it easier to use and manage multiple peripherals connected to the same Windows computer.
Designed for mice and keyboards connected through USB ports rather than PS/2, the new software also automates device detection.
“IntelliPoint 8.2 includes support for the Microsoft Explorer Touch Mouse and an application to practice using the Microsoft Touch Mouse. With IntelliPoint 8.2, setup automatically detects your mouse model. If you have more than one mouse attached to your computer, each mouse model can have different button assignments. The scrolling experience for mice with smooth scroll wheels has been improved in many applications. PS/2 devices are no longer supported in IntelliPoint 8.2,” Microsoft said.
“With IntelliType Pro 8.2, setup automatically detects your keyboard model. If you have more than one keyboard attached to your computer, each keyboard model can have different settings. PS/2 devices are no longer supported in IntelliType Pro 8.2,” the software giant added.
Both IntelliPoint 8.2 and IntelliType 8.2 are available in multiple localized versions through the Download Center, with users having the option to grab the resources in their native language.
