Together with the company's upcoming line of Pentium processors, Intel also plans to develop a new series of Core i3 and Core i5 CPUs that will feature faster HD 3000 integrated graphics as well as improved clock speeds.

Intel hasn't officially announced any of these processors, but their names have popped up in one of the company's Product Change Notifications (PCN).

This was issued to announce the introduction of a revised boxed cooler that features thinner PWM cables for improved airflow management and better reliability.

As part of the CPUs that were affected by this change, Intel has listed five new processor models including the Core i3-2102, two Core i3-2105 processors (feature the same specs but one is built for China), the Core i5-2405S and the Core i5-2310.

While we do know that the main change that the Core i3-2105 brings over the previous i3-2100 is the addition of a faster HD 3000 graphics core, the 2102 is somewhat of a mystery as Intel hasn't used a similar product number before.

Judging by the small increment, however, it seems like the CPU won't feature any major modifications when compared with the current Core i3-2100.

As for the remaining two chips, the Core i5-2405S should feature similar specs with the i5-2400S with the addition of an HD 3000 on-die GPU while the Core i5-2310 should come as a 100MHz speed upgrade over the i5-2300.

The release date of the new CPUs is not yet known, but a leaked Intel roadmap revealed that Intel plans to introduce faster Sandy Bridge processors starting with the third quarter of 2011.

The next Sandy Bridge based CPUs to be launched by the Santa Clara company are the Pentium G620, G840 and G850 chips that are expected to arrive on May 22. (via Computer Base)
