Outside of its first Pentium processors based on the Sandy Bridge architecture, on May 22 Intel is set to update its processor lineup with three another Core i3 and i5 CPUs that will feature faster clock speeds or better integrated graphics.

The Sandy Bridge Pentium CPU lineup will also witness the introduction of the G620T, a chip that wasn't expected to arrive until later this year.

Compared to the rest of the Pentium CPUs, this was tuned in order to deliver a much lower power consumption and features a 35W TDP, almost half that of its more powerful siblings.

Its operating speed has also been reduced, but otherwise it packs all the features of the other Sandy Bridge Pentium chips in Intel's lineup, including 3 MB of shared Level 3 cache, an on-chip memory controller with for support DDR3-1066 memory (DDR3-1333 on G800 series) and an integrated Intel HD-series GPU.

Its pricing has been set at $70, which makes it just $6 more expensive than the entry-level Pentium G620.

The other two Pentium CPUs, the 2.8GHz G840 and the 2.9GHz G850 are priced at $75 and $86, respectively.

Outside of these four processors, May 22 will also mark the introduction of the Core i3-2105, Core i5-2405S and of the Core i5-2310.

The first two chips are almost identical with the current Core i3-2100 and Core i5-2400S, but pack an updated on-die GPU that features 12 EUs.

On the other hand, the Core i5-2310 is a higher clocked version of the i5-2300, and has its frequency, as well as maximum Turbo Boost frequency, raised to 2.9GHz and 3.2GHz, respectively. The CPU has the same TDP as the i5-2300 and also the same $177 recommended price tag.

All the upcoming processors are compatible with LGA 1155 motherboards, including those models based on the soon to be released Intel Z68 chipset. (via CPU-World)
