It will stop selling on June 7 and will be replaced by the 313 line

We've seen how the 510 series of solid state drives from Intel have almost reached the end of their rope and, now, we know that the 311 Series is getting scrapped as well.

That isn't to say that they will suddenly vanish without a trace.

Instead, Intel has announced that the 34nm-based storage devices will be up for pre-order only until June 7 this year (2012).

After that, shipments will continue up to September 7.

The place of the storage products will be filled by Intel's newer and better line, 313 Series, built out of 25nm NAND Flash chips.

We'll just have to wait and see how they do, as, by that time, the average SSD price might just fall to the $1-Per-GB level for every other SSD out there, which will put quite a bit of pressure on Intel, since it has yet to establish itself as a strong presence in this field.
