Considering the success of the Centrino technology for notebooks, Intel thought it would be a good idea to develop a similar technology for the PC.
Intel's latest platform, dubbed Professional Business Platform, will be based on Pentium 4, but the novelty is that it will include Intel Active Management Technology.
According
to Intel, this technology simplifies the management of the systems and improves the security. Network administrators will be able to monitor the systems much easier and to eliminate from the network the systems based on Professional Business Platfom that have been compromised or are malfunctioning.
Moreover, PBP will also include an emulation technology, which will allow the PC to function as two different computing systems.
Intel intends to include in the list of specifications features like: hardware integration for VoIP, but this will only happen in 2 years or so.
Intel didn't make any comments about the prices and the producers that will integrate in their systems the Professional Business Platform, but all these details will be revealed by the end of this month.
