A natural consequence of the fourth generation making its debut

Since the Haswell collection of central processing units is now alive and kicking, Intel has decided that the time is nigh for the retirement of its Ivy Bridge line.

It won't happen overnight, but it also won't spare even the best of Ivy Bridge chips. There would be no point, given that Haswell has better counterparts at a similar, soon-to-be identical, price.

Various Core i3 and Core i5 models will be phased out by the end of this quarter (Q3 2013).

The number of Celeron and Pentium parts reaching the end of their lives is quite a bit higher, however.

MyCE website has the full list, which we have included in the photo above. It is actually a roadmap slide exposed at the same time as Intel's plans to move from removable LGA to soldered BGA CPUs.
