First parts will ship later this year, possibly in Q4

The entire Intel Atom CPU roadmap seems to be covered in fog, as several different parties say equally different things.

On the one hand, there is Fudzilla saying that Silvermont Atom CPUs will arrive only in the fourth quarter, which means the new wave of Intel-powered tablets isn't due any time soon.

On the other hand, we have CNN reporting that Intel will officially unveil the Silvermont units on May 6.

I suppose it's possible for this to only be a paper launch, or just a preview of the architecture, and for the chips to still only ship from Q4 onwards.

Just as Intel has published the 8-Series Lynx Point motherboard specs and the Complete Intel Haswell 4th-Gen CPU Family Specifications.

Various products and technologies have been accelerated lately though, so maybe Intel's next-generation tablet platform will be too.
