The iPad mini is not for you? Still, you’d like to get your hands on something similar? Chinese manufacturer Teclast has just the answer for you.

While many Chinese producers try to copy the iPad’s looks, Teclast does so in a more subtle and aesthetic manner. Meet the real iPad mini clone, the TPad P89, a slate that doesn’t impress only by means of looks.

Yes, the slate features a sleek and stylish design but, in an interesting move, Teclast has managed to partner up with Intel itself to bring life to this tablet.

The TPad P89 features a 7.9 IPS screen featuring a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. Power comes from the Intel Z2580 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. There are two cameras, a 2-megapixel front one and a rear 5-megapixel snapper.

Customers will have the opportunity to choose between a 16GB and a 32GB version. Android is the default operating system, yet at this moment it’s not known which particular version.

So far there’s no word about pricing, but as one would expect from a Chinese manufacturer, the price tag will be more affordable than the iPad mini’s. The company has started mass production, so the device will end up on retail shelves soon. Also brace yourselves for a gold version of the slate.
