Intel has made available new PROSet/Wireless drivers, namely version 16.6.0, which consist of several download records containing both drivers-only and drivers with WiFi software packages.

The drivers’ CCX SDK version number for this release is 1.1.13, and can be installed on systems that run under both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

Version 16.6.0 is targeted at end customers, but can also be used by home and business users who do not need advanced IT administrator tools.

As for the supported adapters, Intel’s newly released packages are compatible with its Centrino Wireless-N 100, 105, 130, and 135 devices, as well as the Centrino Wireless-N 1000, 1030, 2230, and Wireless-N + WiMAX 6150 products.

In addition to that, the Centrino Advanced-N 6200, 6205, 6230, 6235, and Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250 adapters, along with the Centrino Ultimate-N 6300, Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160, Wireless-AC 7260, and Wireless-N 7260 devices, are also supported by the new version.

That being said, if your system is compatible with Intel’s latest PROSet release, then download Intel PROSet/Wireless Driver 16.6.0 for the proper OS and bit architecture, apply it, and update your adapter’s version.
