Intel has just outed a new update for some of its wireless bluetooth adapters, namely PROSet/Wireless utility for Bluetooth technology version 17.0.1405.02, which is compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants of Microsoft’s Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 operating systems.

When it comes to the compatible devices, this fresh release can be applied on computers equipped with one of Intel’s Centrino Advanced-N 6230 and 6235 adapters, or the producer’s Centrino Wireless-N 1030, 130, 135, and 2230 units.

In addition to that, the Wireless-N 7260 and Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 adapters, as well as the Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160, 7260, and 7260 for Desktop units, are also suitable for this update. Besides the aforementioned devices, the Windows 7 OS also supports Centrino Ultimate-N 6300.

As for the downloadable packages, the producer has provided 6 executables and 6 archives compatible with each bit architecture of the supported OSes.

In order to be clear, while the executables are targeted at home users and small business customers that are using the above-mentioned adapters, the archives are recommended for large corporations, universities, and the like. However, these packages can be used at your own desire.

With this in mind, download Intel PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Utility 17.0.1405.02 or download Intel PROSet/Wireless Bluetooth Utility 17.0.1405.02 for IT Administrators, apply the new update on your system, and make sure you perform a reboot in order for the changes to take effect.
