It's quite likely that we'll see plenty of new tablets being released at the International CES 2011, and Motion Computing, a well-known manufacturer of rugged portable computing solutions, also has some interesting novelties in store, specifically the new CL900 tablet, powered by Intel's Oak Trail Atom CPU.

According to Motion, the new CL900 represents the company's first small form factor, rugged tablet PC designed for productivity and business integration, especially since it delivers the protection of the MIL-STD-810G specification (four foot drop test) at only 2.1 pounds and less than 16mm thick.

Another interesting detail worth pointing out here is the fact that the tablet's screen features Corning Gorilla Glass display for added durability and scratch resistance and incorporated DuPont Vertak to improve visibility in various lighting conditions.

Beside the Oak Trail Atom CPU we've mentioned earlier, the CL900 also sports up to 2GB of RAM memory, plus 30GB or 62GB solid state drive (SSD) storage, that should prove to be quite enough for most user's needs.

In terms of connectivity, the CL900 is extremely well-featured, since it will come with a peripheral module that will enable simple device expansion, as well as front and rear-facing cameras to support documentation, video conferencing and collaboration.

Additional connectivity options include USB, SD Card, audio and video to simplify the use of industry standard peripheral solutions, optional integrated Gobi 3000 mobile broadband with GPS, 802.11 a/b/g/n WLAN, Bluetooth 3.0, and a wireless SIM port for advanced communications, plus a countertop docking station that optimizes the CL900 for touch input and adds a simple and easy way to integrate peripherals.

Given the fact that Intel's Oak Trail Atom CPUs haven't even been officially unveiled just yet, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the Motion Computing CL900 tablet is slated to become commercially available in Q2, 2011, when it sells for somewhere under 1,000 US dollars.
