Far Cry 2 is a very good game, and this is a statement that’s also been backed up by our review of the title. It brought a whole new shooter experience to a pretty saturated genre and took realism to new heights. From the fact that your weapons would wear out as you used them to the fact that you needed to fix the engine of your car if it was damaged, the game featured quite a lot of interesting things, but, most importantly, it had one of the most realistic fires, which hasn't been seen in any other game.

Developed by the Ubisoft Montreal team, this spiritual successor to the first Far Cry has gained critical acclaim and has sold extremely well, showing that players really enjoy games that bring them new things. Far Cry 2 is very long, which will surely make you spend quite a lot of time playing it, but, as it now seems, that experience can be enriched, with the help of Intel.

That's right, the popular processor manufacturer has just announced that it will be offering two missions exclusively via its Game On service. These two new missions are available for download from the company's website, and they are set to offer some new adventures for the gamers who will install them, through the fields of the African country in which the action of the game is placed. These two new missions are:

“Mission 1: the Morrocan

This mission sends you into the most heavily guarded region of the Leboa-Sako territory. Hiding out at the old Legion fort is a Moroccan who might be able to help you locate the Jackal. Your objective is to locate him and find out what he knows.

Mission 2: the American

Your predecessor has tracked down the American informant to the Dogon village in the rocky northern ranges. Your objective: follow his trail and find out what the informant told him.”

These missions are part of a six-pack one, which will be released at a later time. You can download them but the second one will be unlocked only when you finish the first one. All in all, a pretty interesting offer, which is sure to make quite a lot of Far Cry 2 players out there interested in these new adventures.

I think this is a very clever gimmick by a a PC microprocessor company to keep PC gamers from switching to consoles, or to wean some console game players over to buying gaming PCs or the upgrades needed to play. Overall, it can become a great marketing tool, giving away extra mission modules.
