Intel plans to release a new lineup of notebook oriented Core 2 Extreme CPUs till the end of 2007. First, there's the Core 2 Extreme X7800, based on the same Merom core used by the Core 2 Duo mobile family CPU. Intel's Core 2 Extreme X7800 is said to be clocked at 2.6 GHz, operating on an 800 MHz front-side bus and featuring 4MB of L2 cache like the rest of the Core 2 Duo family. Intel did not forget to include technologies such as VT, EIST, EM64T and XD/NX bit for the new CPU. However, it looks like the Intel Dynamic Acceleration feature was eliminated.

Next in line is the Core 2 Extreme X7900 CPU, which is set to replace the X7800 some time in Q4 2007. This improved model is clocked at 2.8 Ghz, but retains the same overall features of Intel's X7800 CPU. Both upcoming mobile CPUs are only available for socket P, unlike the Core 2 Duo product family, which features support for socket P, as well as for BGA sockets.

In addition, the forth quarter of 2007 will bring two new Core 2 Duo CPUs. As soon as Core 2 Extreme X7900 becomes the flagship for mobile CPUs, Intel plans to release the Core 2 Duo T7800. This high-end model is identical to the Core 2 Extreme X7800, with the sole improvement of including the Intel Dynamic Acceleration feature. As for the mainstream sector, it will be extended with the addition of the Core 2 Duo T7250 by the end of 2007. This model is similar to the current Core 2 Duo T7300, except the L2 cache is halved to 2MB. It also features a 2.0 GHz clock speed and 800 MHz front-side bus, resembling the Core 2 Duo T7300.

For now, pricing details are available only for the Core 2 Duo Extreme X7800 CPU which is expected to ship for $795 per-unit in 1,000-unit quantities.
