It looks like Samsung may have teamed up with Intel for the release of a high-end tablet. The unannounced slate is codenamed CHOPIN, and judging from the specs it's a top-tier device.

Samsung's CHOPIN tablet appeared recently in Geekbench with pretty high specs, including 4GB of RAM. Another piece of information revealed by these benchmarks is the Intel Atom x5-Z8500 chipset build on the 14nm Cherry Trail platform that's supposed to be at the core of the CHOPIN.

The chipset accommodates a quad-core processor clocked at 2.24GHz, as well as an 8th generation Intel graphics processing unit, which should be enough for the tablet to run anything that you can possibly throw at it.

Judging from the scores it achieved (1005 points in the single-core tests; 3425 points in the multi-core test), the CHOPIN seems to offer the same level of performance as other high-end Samsung smartphones in the Galaxy series.

We also know that Samsung CHOPIN was tested running Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, which might also be the platform the tablet will run at launch.

Unfortunately, there is no info whatsoever about the possible release of this high-end Samsung tablet codenamed CHOPIN. However, since the slate is already being tested internally, we expect more details to emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
