Since you have reached heights that no other has achieved, it is safe to say that you are doing well, and a proof of your benevolence is shown when you give back to the people. Intel has done just that and is continuously doing it through a large number of programs which target emerging markets, education, and so on. Part of these initiatives are the Intel Teach Program, which is developed in order to train teachers for increasing their computer knowledge, so that students can have a better understanding of the computer industry and have the necessary knowledge to use a computer.

But Intel also has "a thing" for companies that have made a decisive mark on the computer industry through their work, so they have decided in awarding the Preferred Quality Supplier award "for outstanding commitment to quality and performance excellence". There were 44 companies that received this award, including Texas Instruments, Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co., Ltd. and Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc. to name just a few.

Craig Brown, vice president Technology and Manufacturing Group and director of Materials said: "The recipients of the 2006 Preferred Quality Supplier award have clearly demonstrated their excellence with the products and services they deliver. The recipients not only showed their commitment to the highest quality standards but also their outstanding ability to focus on affordability, innovation and excellence, as well. It's this dedication that makes these suppliers highly valued by Intel and makes us proud of our association with them."

The second award was Intel's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI), which was given in recognition for the products and services provided by these companies that were "deemed essential to Intel's business success".

Bill Holt, senior vice president and general manager of Intel's Technology and Manufacturing Group stated that: "On the 20th anniversary of Intel's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement program, we are pleased to recognize the world-class performance demonstrated by Intel's SCQI award winners. Their commitment to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement has resulted in strategic contributions to Intel's technology roadmap."
