The CPU maker has peers only in Hitachi, Microsoft and Adobe

Ethisphere periodically conducts a study to determine which companies can be considered the most “ethical” in the world.

Its definition is “companies that truly go beyond making statements about doing business "ethically" and translate those words into action. WME honorees not only promote ethical business standards and practices internally, they exceed legal compliance minimums and shape future industry standards by introducing best practices today.”

The only other hardware company that made the cut is Hitachi Data Systems.

As far as we're concerned, we tend not to put too much stock on these labels. After all, more or less everyone in the IT industry is or was involved in infringement lawsuits or other sorts of battles at some point.

There are no doubt people who can't see why Intel made the list, the same way some will say Microsoft and Adobe are odd entries.

Nevertheless, just being on that there shows that the companies are doing something right, whatever it is.
