Automatic snapshots help you create custom install packages

Say you need to install the same software on more than just one computer. It's a drag, right? Especially when there are tons of preferences and plugins involved. Well, InstallEase takes care of all that using "snapshots." Best of all, you can download it right now, for free!

NOTE: upon downloading the software you will be required to register in order to get an activation key. Don't worry though, it's still free. Just thought I'd mention it before anyone gets confused.

Just as LANrev states, "InstallEase's automatic snapshot feature takes the guess work out of creating custom packages." Users have to take a "before" and "after" snapshot of their system when installing software. InstallEase then generates a list of file changes that are part of the respective installation. You even get to pick which folders or drivers to monitor for changes. The "after" snapshot is said to be "nearly instantaneous" on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

However, installEase also allows you to skip the snapshotting process altogether and just drag and drop files or folders directly from the Finder into the InstallEase window. After InstallEase completes its task, use LANrev Client Management Suite to deploy the custom PKG or DMG software package you've just created. You will be able to control which files to install while LANrev's many software installation options and conditions let you specify when the package should install.

But why don't you check out the full features list right here. Requirements call for Xcode 2.4 or newer (only for creating PKG installers and uninstallers) and/or Iceberg 1.2.2 or newer (only for creating Iceberg projects).

Remember, you'll be able to download the .dmg file with no restrictions and use it for as long as you want, but you need to register to get an activation key.

LANrev was founded by a handful of industry veterans with a vision for comprehensive, but simple systems management tools.
