Confirmation on the upcoming availability of an official Instagram for Windows Phone 8 application has been found today, straight from the company’s website.

The guys over at nokianesia took it on their own to find out whether the app will arrive on Microsoft’s platform or not, and managed to discover proof that this will indeed happen.

Based on the download links available on Instagram for Android and iOS clients, they found that the http://instagram.com/download/windows/ link would automatically redirect to the official Windows Phone Store.

Clearly, this suggests that the Windows Phone 8 application is near, though it hasn’t been listed in the portal as of now.

Some of the latest reports on the matter did suggest that Instagram could release the software this week, yet no official confirmation is available as of now. However, it might not be too long before details are offered, so stay tuned.
