Good news for Instagram addicts, as the Android application has just received a major update meant to offer much more editing options for users.

First of all, developers have confirmed that there are nine new creative tools that will allow Instagram users to edit their photo and adjust various settings such as brightness, contrast, saturation, warmth and more.

“Inspiring creativity is incredibly important to us—and as the Instagram community grows, we’ve been excited to hear requests for more ways to creatively take hold of how your photos look and feel,” say the company's officials in a blog post.

But that is not all. Another major new feature is the ability to adjust filters. According to the devs, when selecting a filter for a picture, you should notice a wrench icon. Simply tap on it in order to find a range of editing tools that can be used to improve the quality of the picture.

Those who already have the application installed on their devices will probably be automatically notified of the update.

New users can now download Instagram for Android 6.0 for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.
