It is hard to understand what’s all the instagram fuss about, but the concept is nice

Everybody was at least a little impressed by the Instagram buyout. We certainly weren't as this is too much like the internet bubble from a decade ago.

Seeing how much popularity the Instagram business is enjoying right now, Antonio De Rosa created this concept after being impressed, just like most others, by Facebook’s massive acquisition of Instagram.

He even compiled a list of desired features he’d like to have on the camera:

- 16 GB mass storage; - Wifi and Bluetooth; - 4:3 touchscreen; - 2 main lens, first for main capture, second for 3D filters, webcam applications and QR Code capturing; - Optical zoom; - Led Flash; - Internal printer to make your Instagram photos real; - Paper cartridge with Instagram Paper Sheets; - Dedicated 4 colors ink tanks; - InstaOs 1.0; [sic]

To us, this looks and sounds just like Polaroid’s popular camera in the digital version with a nice software on it.

On the other hand, the author of the concept comes with other creative ideas about what the software options should look like.

There should be a custom OS running the camera’s firmware and that should be completely integrated with the facebook options so that the user could directly take the picture, make it “cool” and share it directly on facebook without using the computer.

The camera should have Polaroid-like capabilities of directly printing the picture on special Paper Sheets and the user’s Instagram nickname and QR code will also be printed on the picture.

The Paper Sheets should also have a strip of glue underneath, just like a post-it sticker has, so that the user will be able to display it anywhere he likes.
