Instagram lovers, kindly update to version 3.4.0 if you’re tired of the same old filters you’ve been using since September 2011. If you’ve missed the most recent updates, you’ve also missed out on two new filters, the latest of which is Mayfair.

Kevin Systrom is proud to announce a new version of Instagram for iPhone and iPad aficionados which ups the localization ante to 25 languages and delivers an all-new filter called “Mayfair.”

I’ve demoed it for you in the picture above. Not exactly a crystal clear example of how the filter works, but I’m not claiming to be an artist either.

Moving on to the other enhancements in the new Instagram, you can now share photos from any album. And when you start up the app you can log in with your Facebook account and keep things that way.

Finally, Instagram 3.4.0 brings “improved performance and bug fixes,” according to Systrom.

Speaking of the developer, Systrom apologizes for the recent terms of service fiasco, stating, “Because of the feedback we have heard from you, we are reverting this advertising section to the original version that has been in effect since we launched the service in October 2010.”

“You also had deep concerns about whether under our new terms, Instagram had any plans to sell your content. I want to be really clear: Instagram has no intention of selling your photos, and we never did. We don’t own your photos – you do,” he clarifies.
