Rumors suggest that Insomniac Games, a studio long linked with the PlayStation brand of hardware, is no longer enjoying a close relationship with Sony and might even lack access to a development kit for the coming PlayStation 4.

A user on the NeoGAF forum says that two industry contacts have mentioned the information so far.

At the moment, Insomniac Games is working on a new title called Fuse, which will be offered on the PlayStation 3 but also on the Xbox 360.

Sony has already suggested that the Resistance series, which the studio was working on, is on an extended hiatus.

The most recent installment in the Ratchet & Clank series is also being handled by another team.

Insomniac Games has not yet talked about a project linked to next-generation consoles, from either Microsoft or Sony.
