14 DAY TRIAL // Although winter is in full swing out there, you can still get a taste of life on your Windows 7 computers courtesy of new themes.
One of them is the Insects Dynamic Theme, which, just as its name suggests, relies on RSS to deliver new images straight on your computer screen.
With the new dynamic theme, you can bring small bugs, beautifully colored butterflies, and other insects to your PC’s desktop, all in high-resolution close-up photos.
In other words, you will also be able to analyze these small living creatures in detail, and admire the beauty that nature has to offer.
“Captured in their native habitat by members of the community, these elegant dragonflies, graceful butterflies, adorable lady bugs, and other insects are a wonder to behold,” the theme’s description reads.
“Download these close-up images of the insect world for free in this Windows 7 theme. This theme updates automatically through an RSS feed.”
As soon as the theme has been downloaded on your computer, you will need to go to the Personalization tab in Control Panel to select it.
Keep in mind that the theme needs to download images to deliver to your desktop, which means that you will have to select “Download attachments” when setting it.
Insects Dynamic is the second theme that Microsoft makes available for Windows 7 users this year with focus on the world of small creatures.
The company also released a Butterflies theme recently, delivering amazing images to users' screens. However, that theme was not dynamic.
The same as the Butterflies theme and other such software for Windows 7, the new Insects Dynamic theme can be installed on Windows 8 Developer Preview computers as well (Microsoft says that it was meant only for use in Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate editions).
