The MagMod might be the most convenient way to modify any hot-shoe flash

Started only two days ago, the new MagMod Kickstarter project has already been funded by over 650 backers at the moment you're reading this.

What MagMod is and why you should want one will be explained in the following paragraphs.

Spencer Boerup is an accomplished photographer with over eight years of experience in the field. During all this time, he tested all sorts of bulky, awkward and cheap flash modifiers that all of us have used at some point in our photo shoots.

The problem is that every one of these home-made modifiers has a handful of flaws that can make your life miserable when you're on a tight schedule.

MagMod is a new kind of flash modifier system that will spare you the trouble of using non-conventional methods to modify your speedligthts.

The new MagMod modifier is made out of a solid piece of high-quality silicone rubber, and it's designed to work with every prosumer hot-shoe flash ever created (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus etc).

Silicone rubber is known to retain 99% of its elasticity over time, which means that MagGrip will firmly fit your flash even after long periods of use.

With the help of two strong Neodymium "rare-earth" magnets, you will be able to incorporate as many additional grids as you can stack, making it a versatile accessory for your backpack.

If you're wondering if MagMod supports gels, you can rest assured that the whole system has been intensively tested to accommodate as many gel sheets as you might need to instantly change the color, density and hue of your flash.

The basic kit comes with the MagGrip, as well as a MagGrid and MagGel kit to get you started, all at a price of $79 / €58. The project has already been funded after the first day, and it's very close to reaching its first milestone. With 31 days to go, we'll just have to wait and see how many backers it manages to get.
