One thing that we should learn from all that has been going on these days in the graphics card industry is that manufacturers tend to rush with announcing their latest products. This time we are talking about one of NVIDIA's channel partners, Inno3D, which decided to introduce its version of the latest G92-based graphics card, namely GeForce 9800GTX+.
As you might have read by now, the 9800GTX+ will be released to counter AMD's HD 4870. The new card will offer more graphics power than the standard GeForce 9800 GTX and will be equipped with a 55nm GPU. Expected to come out with a considerable price cut as compared to the current GeForce 9800GTX, the card is a cheaper alternative to AMD's HD 4870. Besides the better performance and manufacturing process, the new card will also feature support for the latest NVIDIA PhysX technology, which is meant to boost its overall performance.
Inno3D's version is based on NVIDIA's standard edition and provides a maximum core clock speed of 738MHz. The specs of the card also include 512MB of GDDR3 memory and no less than 128 stream processors. The memory clock will be set at 2200 MHz while the Shader clock will run at 1836MHz. The card is expected to provide a 15 % performance boost, as compared to the standard GeForce 9800GTX card.
And because the card has been designed to provide affordable support for high-end gaming rigs, it will also come with support for NVIDIA's SLI technology, enabling system builders to connect three of these cards for a better visual experience.
Inno3D hasn't revealed a price tag for this card yet, but considering that the card will probably hit the store shelves sometime in mid-July, the graphics manufacturer still has enough time to offer more details on its product.
