Police have freed a man and a woman being kept hostage in the German city of Ingolstadt, after a tense negotiation that only involved the man asking for a doner kebab.

According to Sky News, the 24-year-old man that the police apprehended was barred from entering City Hall by a court order.

It has been issued after he befriended the deputy mayor’s 25-year-old receptionist, then started stalking her.

Mayor Alfred Lehrmann documented his history of violence and his criminal record in a press conference.

He had already tried to enter the complex one time this year and he was kicked out and banned.

As I mentioned earlier, he had a history of mental illness and he had been in a psychiatric facility since the summer of last year.
