InfoSonics is a handset manufacturer and provider of related products to OEMs, network operators and authorized sellers. The company is known for its line of products under the “verykool” label.

Today, InfoSonics announced the upcoming availability of their first internally designed smartphone that runs Google’s Android operating system.

Unfortunately, the verykool s700 is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo, which is a big disappointment. InfoSonics claims it has bundled the phone’s software with its own custom designed user interface that is very intuitive.

Other than that, the phone features 2GB of internal memory, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), a 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery, 2-megapixel rear camera, secondary VGA front-facing camera, as well as 3G support and GPS.

No word on release date or price tag yet, but this should be priced for under $100 outright.
