Infamous: Second Son, the next game in the franchise made by Sucker Punch Productions for the PlayStation 4, has just received a huge array of new details, with fresh info about the game's story, protagonist, and the powers wielded by him.

Infamous: Second Son was among the games Sony presented back in February for the PlayStation 4 and quickly impressed many fans of the series made by Sucker Punch.

Since then, very few actual details were shared but now, thanks to an in-depth preview by Game Informer magazine, via GE, fans can find out much more about the third installment in the series.

Second Son takes place after its predecessors in a world where conduits (aka individuals with powers) have been identified and are held without a trial in containment facilities by a new government organization called the Department of Unified Protection (DUP).

A conduit transport vehicle crashes in Seattle and, while trying to rescue the victims, protagonist Deslin Rowe, a young Native American, discovers that he also has powers, more specifically the ability to control smoke and fire.

The DUP locks down Seattle with roadblocks and military bases, populating its streets with its own agents who attack both surviving conduits but also civilians, thereby touching on themes like security versus freedom.

Delsin was already anti-government, and his new-found powers allow him to have fun by toying around with the DUP agents. While Infamous 1 and 2 hero Cole wasn't happy about his lightning-based powers, Delsin is excited about his abilities.

He can cast different types of attacks, including long range smoke projectiles, devastating ground slams, but also a smoke-dash or a smoke cloud that immobilizes enemies. He can also wield a chain that heats up while used to attack.

While Cole charged his powers from electricity outlets, Delsin uses chimneys, destroyed cars, and even tear gas canisters.

Infamous: Second Son also has various uses for the PlayStation 4's new DualShock 4 controller, as the unique touchpad can be used to free conduits from their cells or absorb smoke from the environment.

The game is set to appear for the PS4 in the future but no concrete details about its release were shared.
