Sony has confirmed an official release date, as well as pricing information for the upcoming standalone expansion for its Infamous 2 action title, called Festival of Blood.

Infamous 2 impressed quite a lot of people with its sprawling story, the sharp graphics and visuals, as well as the variety of missions that can be experienced, including ones offered through its User Generated Content feature, which received quite a few new items and options via DLC and updates made to the title by its developer, Sucker Punch.

Now, the game is set to receive its first full pledged add-on, in the form of Infamous 2: Festival of Blood, a standalone expansion that brings a new adventure for protagonist Cole McGrath, as the city of New Marais is infected by vampires.

"Infamous 2 Festival of Blood will be a brand new standalone single player DLC for download via PSN. Vampires swarm New Marais, and revered superhero Cole MacGrath has been bitten. To save his soul – and the city – he has just one night to find and kill the head vampire. Featuring new missions, themed environment settings, plus new characters and enemies, Festival of Blood explores the darker side of the Infamous universe. Previous Infamous games will not be needed to play this DLC."

Besides bringing new adventures for Cole, the release of the add-on is going to coincide with the arrival of official PlayStation Move support to Infamous 2, allowing players to use the motion controls instead of the standard DualShock 3 controller.

Infamous: Festival of Blood will be deployed onto the PlayStation Store next month, on October 25, in North America, and October 26, in Europe and the UK, just in time for Halloween. It's going to be sold for $14.99 and, like Sony mentioned above, a copy of Infamous 2 isn't needed to play it.
