The hacktivist accuses Pakistan of supporting terrorist activities

Earlier this week, we learned that Indian hacker Godzilla had managed to disrupt most Pakistani government websites after gaining access to a server that was used as a proxy.

In addition to disrupting the websites, the hacker has also leaked the usernames and passwords used by administrators to access databases, E Hacking News informs.

Godzilla has published the hashed password used by the “main super admin,” along with 35 other usernames and clear text passphrases that protect the databases of government websites.

“Pakistan Government made a smart move by using proxy in a very tricky way. The same proxy was used to get inside the network. Pakistan uses IBM servers with Layer 2-3 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module for IBM eServer BladeCenter. This switches works as a switch as well router,” the hacker said.

“All websites are exactly identical with same database structure. And all websites are vulnerable to SQL injections,” he added.

The hacktivist once again accuses Pakistan of supporting terrorist activities.

“Pakistan is a country which is currently supporting terrorist activities through ISI, and if they regret Pakistan army and Ministry of Defense mail server backups are enough to proof how closely the are related to terrorism. Pakistan stop these activities before it’s too late.”

Currently, most of the government sites have been restored, but some of them are still offline.

This latest incident only further fuels the grudge between Indian and Pakistani hacktivists. Usually, commercial websites are hacked and defaced, so a breach that impacts a large number of government sites is clearly more serious.

Judging by past incidents, Pakistani hacktivists will likely retaliate in one way or the other.

At the end of February, Indian officials revealed that several measures had been taken to protect government systems against cyberattacks. It remains to be seen if these measures are efficient.
