The Indian government has finally released the long-awaited National Cyber Security Policy-2013.

“The National Cyber Security Policy-2013 serves as a means to provide confidence and reasonable assurance to all stakeholders in the country and the global community about the safety, security and resilience of cyberspace,” Kapil Sibal, minister of communications and information technology, said, cited by The Hindu.

“Considering the dynamics of the internal and external environment, the task of evolving a meaningful national cyber security policy covering a broad spectrum of issues is quite daunting.”

Everything related to cyber security will be coordinated by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS).

The National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Center (NCIIPC) is responsible with enhancing the protection and resilience of India’s critical information systems. The NCIIPC will also manage crisis situations.

The National Cyber Security Policy aims at creating an assurance framework for the design of security policies.
