India’s Cabinet Committee on Security has met today and approved the National Cyber Security Policy, a policy designed to strengthen the country’s cyber security posture.

The policy aims at building the necessary capacities to create a secure computing environment and develop a framework that addresses all long-term issues. The framework will rely on programs and specific actions.

The Indian government is also determined to focus on manpower training to address cyber security challenges.

"This policy caters for the whole spectrum of ICT users and providers including small and home users, medium and large enterprises and government and non-government entities," an official said, cited by Times of India.

In late April, the EC Council and the Institute of Advance Network Technology revealed their intentions to train 10,000 students that would become the country’s cyber warriors.
