No such thing will be included in Fallout 3

Role Playing Games are extremely popular because they take players on a journey filled with interesting aspects and portray a main character that gathers experience almost at the same pace as the player controlling him, by exploring the world and finding new things.

One of the most recent and most popular RPGs was Bethesda's Fallout 3 title, which took players from the underground Vault 101 into a massive open world filled with unique characters, many enemies and intricate quests, all of which offering experience points so that the player could travel from the lowest level to the maximum 20.

That was the case though until the company launched the Broken Steel DLC, which not only brought new main quests and additional enemies but also upgraded the level cap to 30, while offering new perks, abilities and upgraded weapons, and making the road to 30 that much more pleasant and challenging.

Now, as the last of the planned DLC packs, Mothership Zeta, is preparing for its August 3 launch, MTV Multiplayer talked with Jeff Gardiner about the possibility of an add-on that would boost the level cap once more, but also add new maximum levels to the skills and stats, taking them beyond the 100 and 10 limits, respectively.

Not so, Gardiner said, revealing that: “I know from the outside this seems like a fairly simple proposition, but doing this could unbalance the game in a variety of ways.” However, it doesn't mean that it won't be possible, as he left the speculation door open when declaring that: “We’re very happy that people enjoy Fallout 3 so much that they want to keep playing it, and I’m sure we’ll look into addressing these concerns in future games.”

But before you start the rumor mill, keep in mind that he references future games, meaning that at least for Fallout 3 the chance of boosting the level and/or stats cap is very slim. But perhaps the already announced Fallout: New Vegas might hold some new features for players who really want to spend a lot of time in that game.
