A universal battery-saving tip for all iPhone models and all iOS versions

If there’s one thing all smartphones have in common, it’s poor battery life. But if you’re going to use it the way it’s meant to be used, the usual battery-saving tips won't do.

I’ll be the first to say that the iPhone is a gold medalist in power drainage, as much as I love the thing.

Here’s the deal, though. It doesn’t have to suck that much power if you’re using it responsibly.

The web is chock full of battery-saving tips, and they all tell you to dial down things like screen brightness, Wi-Fi, location services, push notifications, and cellular networking.

However, these are all things you need because that’s what makes a smartphone great. Switch them off and all you get is a GameBoy Color in your pocket.

If you really want your phone to work as advertised and still get decent battery life, just log out of Facebook.

This service will single-handedly drain your battery as much as all of the aforementioned features combined.

The winning advice here is not to double click the Home button and kill the app, but to actually get inside the Facebook app and log out of your account.

And this goes for most social networks out there.

It’s a win-win situation because you get to increase your iPhone’s battery life, and live your own life too!

Not wanting to sound like an anti-technology freak, I’d just like to make it clear that if you put bread on the table using Facebook (maybe you’re in the PR business), this tip is probably not for you.

But for the rest of the world’s population, I’d say laying down Facebook every once in a while is something even your eye-doctor may prescribe.
