What we know:

Grand Theft Auto 5 appeared last September for the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms and it's all but certain that the open world title will debut for the PC at some point in time during 2014.

While Rockstar Games is still silent on the possibility of seeing GTA 5 on the PC, it's quite possible that it's just waiting for the right time to make the announcement, especially since most of its previous titles, like L.A. Noire or Max Payne 3, appeared quite quickly on the PC, after reaching the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Already quite a few rumors are pointing towards a release of GTA 5 on the PC in March and it's likely that Rockstar will release the game at that time, leaving a six month buffer window between the PC version and the console editions.

Besides these new reports, however, nothing concrete is known about GTA 5 on the PC.

Why it matters:

Grand Theft Auto 5 delivered a stunning experience on the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms, pushing the two old consoles to their technical limits. This showed in terms of visuals, as many effects weren't that high quality and there were more than enough low-res textures.

The power of the PC will allow the open world of Los Santos to be experienced in a whole new way and with all sorts of impressive visuals effects or technologies, from anti-aliasing to Vsync and more.

While the single-player campaign will benefit from these improvements, the GTA Online multiplayer mode will also be drastically enhanced thanks to the knowledge Rockstar has gained from the troubled launch of the experience on PS3 and Xbox 360 in October last year and the freedom of the platform, allowing for faster updates.

Grand Theft Auto V for PC is rumored to appear in March so expect to hear something official in the near future.
