Income and Capital Growth Strategies, Inc. has been breached by unknown hackers sometime between July 12 and July 15, 2013, DataBreaches informs

While the company believes that the target of this attack is Doug Thorburn, Income and Capital Growth Strategies’s founder, a notification letter has been sent out to customers since it’s possible that the attacker gained access to their personal information.

The exposed data includes names, addresses, social security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, and, in some cases, bank account information.

“We are disclosing this possible breach even though we do not believe it is reasonable to assume that any unauthorized people actually accessed your information. Regardless, we are following up with law enforcement detectives and doing everything to ensure this never happens again,” the firm’s representatives noted.

Those who fall victim to identity theft as a result of this incident are advised to contact the company.
