Gamers always have the option to try and flee from a fight

The development team at InXile working on Wasteland 2 says that it does not plan to introduce any sort of level scaling in the game for random encounters with enemy groups.

Montgomery Markland, a producer, writes on Kickstarter that the team wants players to pay attention to where they roam. Thus, they have designed a robust engine that uses terrain and a general danger level to generate interesting battles.

He states, “We do not conduct any form of level scaling in this regard; so if you wander off the beaten path you better be ready for a tough fight.”

If they feel they cannot cope, gamers can choose to simply run away, but if their Speed, Luck or Outdoorsman skills are not good enough, they might be unable to do so.

Random encounters in Wasteland 2 will include enemies ranging from animals and raiders to robots and radiation mutated opponents.
