Brian Fargo, the leader of the development team at InXile working on Wasteland 2, announces that the game will finally be available for all interested players on September 19 on all platforms and that the team has been making sure that all rewards associated with the pre-order process are ready to be delivered to backers.

The information comes from the official Twitter account of the developer, who also says that he is happy that the 20+- year wait for the sequel is nearing its end.

Wasteland 2 allows the player to create a character and then explore a post-apocalyptic landscape, meeting a varied cast of other characters and eventually fighting a malefic force that's trying to take over.

The game uses classic party-based role-playing mechanics and the combat is both tactical and turn-based.

Wasteland 2 was supposed to be launched in late August, but it was slightly delayed in order to allow the studio to manufacture all the physical items that need to be offered to those who backed the title on Kickstarter.

InXile has promised that the game will respect the legacy of the series but will also bring the core mechanics into modern times in order to appeal to a large audience.
