The InFocus company has established itself as an important projector manufacturer over the past few years, launching some pretty interesting models targeting both business users and the SOHO segment. And the company's latest announcement, namely the Work Big IN15, is targeting mainly the first category mentioned above, as its slim and portable form factor makes it a good solution for those users who need to always have a projector at hand for a fast presentation.
One of the main selling points of the new offering from InFocus is the fact that it provides a level of brightness comparable to those offered by larger conference
room-projectors, delivering up to 2500 ANSI lumens, but in a small, compact form factor. Furthermore, the device generates very crisp and clear images, as well as a zoom ratio of 1.4:1 - 2.0:1, which enhances the user's control over the presentation.
The projector from InFocus can display images using either the 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios, has a 1800:1 contrast ratio, supports resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 and supports the following video modes: full NTSC, PAL, 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i, SECAM. All of these are possible due to the fact that the IN15 uses DLP technology (0.55-inches XGA DMDs), as well as a 4-segment color wheel.
Furthermore, although thin in design, the Work Big IN15 enhances presentation capabilities and incorporates additional video connectivity inputs, including composite video and a VGA port allowing the option of accepting component video, so presenters can go from data to video sources with ease.
"With the announcement of the Work Big IN15, we continue our leadership and focus on delivering high quality products in the ultra-mobile projection category," stated David Woolf, Senior Director of Product Management at InFocus. "Light and bright, the IN15 is a great addition to our industry leading mobile projector portfolio and will be a great asset to today's global business traveler," Woolf concluded.
The new Work Big IN15 will sell for around 1500 US dollars, which is not that high a price as far as business-oriented projectors go, but it's not exactly very cheap either.
