Gamers can also set the time of day and lock the frame rate

The development team at Sucker Punch and publisher Sony are announcing that they are getting ready to release a big patch for their recently launched InFamous: Second Son, which is designed to address a number of issues that the community has been unhappy about.

All gamers will be able to get access to the update once they turn on their PlayStation 4 consoles tomorrow, April 17.

The official PlayStation Blog reveals that gamers will be able to completely remove the Heads Up Display for the title and that, once the single-player campaign is finished once, gamers will also have the option to set the time of day to their liking.

The developer adds, "We also promised, and have included, an option to cap the game frame rate at 30 FPS if you prefer playing this way. To set expectations for you all: this is a frame rate cap — not a lock. It won’t eliminate the rare instance of a dropped frame during gameplay."

InFamous: Second Son also has a number of crash fixes included in the patch and the localization has been improved, and the entire game experience now automatically pauses when a controller runs out of batteries.

The team adds, "We were totally amazed at the quality of the screenshots you all shared. Amazed. So we thought we’d try to help you all out. With this patch, you can enable photo mode within the options. Once you do that, clicking L3 will pause the game, and allow you to use a suite of our internal tools (like setting depth of field) to take even more amazing shots."

A video tutorial is also offered to give players a better look at the new mode and the various ways they can use it and it seems that it will not be offered in the scripted sequences and during cutscenes.

The development team at Sucker Punch also says that the changes made to the title are not linked to the core save game, which means that they will automatically reset each time gamers restart InFamous: Second Son.

Players are once more invited to offer their feedback on the new features and it seems that the team is ready to change any aspects that the community does not approve of.

InFamous: Second Son has managed to sell more than one million units since it was launched, a solid performance for a title only offered on the PlayStation 4.
