Gamers will be able to make some tough decisions about other characters

Brian Fleming, the studio co-founder at Sucker Punch and producer on InFamous: Second Son, says that his team is not trying to create a complex morality tale in the coming title and is more interested in playing styles than it is in decisions about the fate of characters.

The developer tells the PlayStation Blog that “you’ll be making decisions about the trajectories of some of the other characters, which is a different take on it. But ultimately, the most important changes aren’t narrative ones. There’ve been systems added to really foster different play styles, and that’s the thing that’s going to be the most enjoyable aspect of your second playthrough.”

The game is centered around Delsin Roww, who is just an anonymous graffiti artist at first, and the way he uses his newfound superpowers in order to battle the Department of Unified Protection, which in turn seeks to keep the world safe from conduits.

The game takes place seven years after the events of the second title in the series, and Sucker Punch is trying to wipe de slate clean in many ways and tell an entirely new story that features a limited cast of familiar faces.

Fleming adds, “This isn’t an homage to the previous games. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be a couple of fun things in there for the fans — but it’s not what Second Son is about. It’s not about, say, Zeke being a front line character. This is Delsin’s story.”

All those who enjoyed the stories told in the previous two titles in the franchise will be able to find out more about the way certain characters live now.

The developer also says that there are no plans to talk about power sets other than Smoke and Neon for Delsin before the game is launched.

Fans believe that the main character will be able to use another two full sets of supernatural abilities.

Sucker Punch is staying mysterious for the moment because it wants gamers to be surprised as they progress through InFamous: Second Son and discover new ways to approach combat.

The title is set to arrive exclusively on the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony on March 21 all over the world.

The game was firstly set to be one of the launch titles, but the publisher made the decision to delay it in order to make sure that Sucker Punch had the time it needed to create a compelling set of core gameplay mechanics.
