Nate Fox, the game director who worked on the recently launched InFamous: Second Son, believes that when it comes to video games and story, Valve continues to be the best development team despite recent praise that has been directed at Naughty Dog.

He tells Edge that he sees Half-Life 2 as the Bible when it comes to integrated narrative.

The developer adds, “the technology for the facial capture you see in Second Son isn’t something that we alone have access to. All games will be doing that, and that’s great, because it means actors will have more presence in games and there will be more great examples of interactive storytelling.”

Sony and Microsoft have promised that the power of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One can be used to enhance graphics, gameplay and storytelling.

InFamous: Second Son was launched in late March and has managed to sell more than 1 million units in nine days.

Rumors about Half-Life 3 regularly pop up online, but Valve has not offered any official details on the video game, although the series has a very dedicated fan base.

At the moment, the company is focused on the development of the SteamOS, the associated hardware linked to it and the special controller that will also introduce haptic feedback elements.
