Microsoft has opened an online door to the center of Windows Vista deployment. The company's OEM System Builder Technology Team has announced that as of yesterday, May 15, 2007, the
Windows Vista Deployment Center is live. The Vista Center is designed to streamline the deployment of Windows Vista operating systems, and OEM Preinstallation Kit (Windows OPK) is the right tool for the job.
Users accessing the Center will be able to tap a resource created to convince and educate them in relation to the benefits delivered by the Windows OPK in terms of Vista deployment. Microsoft delivers a complete set of guidelines that will reveal the pre-deployment environment preparation, instructions to install the kit and deploy Vista across a network.
Network based deployments of Windows Vista will no longer present any problems.
"Because getting ready for deployment is quick and easy, most of the site's content focuses on the three deployment methods. The site helps you choose the method that matches your deployment needs, and provides in-depth, step-by-step instructions for each of the methods. The site walks you through every step of each procedure, with screen shots all along the way. And because you want to save as much deployment time as possible, the site describes simple automation procedures that you should follow to maximum your time savings," explained the OEM System Builder Technology Team.
Via the center, OEMs will find out how to enable support for drivers that do ship by default with the operating system, adding third-party programs during Windows Setup, and branding the copies of Windows Vista with their own logo.
"The site includes an end-to-end procedure that you can follow to enable Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE). Windows RE is a remarkable self-healing feature of Windows Vista that you can take advantage of. When it is enabled, it adds the ability to recover from up to 80 % of common system issues. Whether you are a new or existing system builder, the Windows Vista Deployment Center will help you deploy Windows Vista easier and faster, with features that increase the value of every PC you sell," added the OEM System Builder Technology Team.
