Kim Kardashian got married over the weekend in one of the highest mediated ceremonies of recent years. While husband Kris Humphries was probably happy with how she organized the event, a new report claims his family was anything but. Us Magazine writes that, while no expense was spared from making the wedding the most fabulous affair imaginable, it still was tacky and fake.
At least, that’s the impression Kris Humphries’ family was left with. Moreover, his parents were sent back home in the economy class the very next day.
There were rhinestones all over the place at the reception, and cameras getting in people’s face to make sure they captured every reaction to what was happening.
Everything felt forced, fake, scripted.
“One guest tells the new Us Weekly, out now, adding that the huge affair was ‘100 percent Kardashian,’ with a Swarovski-crystal cross at the altar, 200-plus staffers and plenty of TV cameras documenting the whole thing for an October TV special on E!” Us Magazine writes.
“‘It was so hard to take it all seriously,’ another guest says. Kardashian, 30, even told guests repeatedly ‘This is our version of the royal wedding!’ according to another insider,” the same publication writes.
It wasn’t just the guests who got this impression, the report further notes. Humphries’ family looked particularly shocked by the display of tackiness they were treated to, even if they were truly happy for Kris.
“Although the groom’s family ‘mostly looked appalled by the entire thing,’ the Humphries brood ‘cheered when Kim and Kris were pronounced husband and wife’,” the celebrity magazine says.
“Everybody felt awkward, like it was all for the cameras and more like a TV show than a wedding,” another insider dishes.
Indeed, if any of the above is accurate, it would make sense. A report said yesterday that Kim banked an estimated
$17.9 million on the wedding, so she probably wanted it to look best on camera, even if that meant making her guests feel awkward.
