Yes, you can say it again: it's been a rough couple of months, what with having to deal with Britney and her social downfall (the crotch shots, the three visits to rehab, the rumors about her sexuality and the final outburst, when she whooped a paparazzo and his innocent SUV - it's called collateral damage - all these will probably be forever scarred on our memory) and her and Kevin's post-divorce scandal.
If you try a bit harder, chances are you will remember what happened towards the end of last year: after word got out that Britney wanted out (of the marriage, that is), there was this entire media frenzy about how much money the washed-up rapper would get from his millionaire wife and about a rumored sex tape that Federline wanted to use as 'leverage' in the legal proceedings. Eventually, all the talk amounted to nothing: the so-called singer never said anything about his source of future income. Neither did he release that sex tape the entire world wanted so much too see. That was indeed a shame...
Anyway, after such a long time of trials and tribulations, the spousal feud came to an end yesterday, when Brit and Kevin met with their attorneys (and each other), sat down at the table and talked. And talked. And then they smoked and talked some more. Eventually, they came to an understanding, both in what concerns the money and the custody of the two children.
While rumor had it that the singer was in danger of losing the physical custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James because of her yet unnamed addiction, it turned out that a prenup always comes in handy. Especially if it's drawn up by one of the most badass celebrity attorney and includes even the most absurd clauses. That was exactly what Britney did before saying her 'I Do' to her backup dancer (that was before K-Fed discovered his hidden talent as a rapper) - she had her lawyer draw up the tightest prenuptial contract ever and she's probably very thankful for that.
So, after another brief visit at the hospital (for the same aching molar that also troubled her a couple of days ago and had her go to the ER), Britney met with Kevin and settled all accounts, pecuniary and otherwise. After four hours of talking and probably arguing, Kevin's publicist told 'People' magazine: 'The parties signed a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and the custody of the children'. You might notice that there's no word on how much K-Fed stands to get from his soon to be former wife but speculation has it that the amount will not be smaller that $1 million and bigger than $2 million. Good news is that he gets 50-50 custody with Britney which, by the way, was what he said he wanted from the very start.
I guess this is it: now that the two celebrities finally reached an understanding, the world can go on as before. Also, it's great to see that Britney was rushed once more to the hospital and yet no final cataclysm came to sweep us all from the face of the earth. I kid, I kid...
