Renderings made by Dutch designer could show the real thing

Based on the latest case leaks, Dutch designer Martin Hajek has released his new view of the upcoming iPhone 6, perhaps the most accurate one to date, including the purported blue and red cases shown in pictures lately.

Hajek made a model of the rumored iPhone 6 based on the drawings leaked by MacFan last month. He tells us he also drew inspiration from the images published by Nowhereelse.fr featuring cases made by a third-party accessory maker for the upcoming handset (likely based on the same leaked blueprints).

If the rumors/leaks are correct (and there is no reason to believe they aren’t), the iPhone 6 will be considerably bigger compared to its predecessors, and even more so if the 5.5-inch model is indeed also planned.

So far, all leaks point to the 4.7-inch version being in the works, featuring a relocated Power/Sleep/Wake button, redesigned volume buttons (resembling the elongated buttons on the fifth-generation iPod touch), a substantially thinner body and, most importantly, much more screen real estate.

Hajek drew up these mockups to give us an idea of what the phone might look like, and there’s a pretty good chance these renderings are very accurate. In all likelihood, we are looking at the final design of the iPhone 6 planned by Apple for this year.

With WWDC14 announced and an abundance of leaks already reported in the media, it may just be that Tim Cook has plans to unveil the handset a bit earlier this year. This, however, is pure speculation on our end.

Hajek even took the liberty of strapping one of the leaked cases on the drawings he made, showing a perfect match between the two. Apple could well introduce a new range of cases that look exactly like this. They look far more appealing than the “bumpers” and croc-cases it has come up with in recent years.

There are rumors that the company wants to increase the price of the phone by $100 (€72), which would mean that the unlocked versions could sell for as much as $1,000 (€720) or even more in some configurations (i.e. 32GB, 64GB). However, chances are this price spike will only be felt by those opting for the higher-end, 5.5-inch model.
