Tablet PC sales celebrate their third year of existence and the third year of spectacular growth. Tablet PC shipments which run Windows XP Tablet PC Edition are still below the initial predictions.

In the years to come, experts expect a significant sales increase, the value of this market leaping from $1.2 billion in 2004 to $5.4 billion in 2009, In-Stat announced.

From a report recently published by In-Stat, we find out that thanks to the healthcare, real estate and insurance domains, the Tablet PC sales will increase. Among the leaders in this segment, In-Stat mentions Acer, Fujitsu, HP, Motion Computing and Toshiba.

The same company reports that the Tablet PC sales will increase even more if Toshiba offers a system that runs Windows Vista/Longhorn.
